Recently, with the MV Wakashio oil spillage, I went to volunteer at Mahebourg Waterfront with a maximum group of people to create a bundle containing dry sugar cane to absorb the oil in our Marine Ecosystem.
The fact that one year ago, my group and I created an event on Protez nou lagon and as a citizen of Mahebourg, it was my responsibility to lend a hand. Our ecosystem was in danger and the oil is still a threat. During my time spent with the volunteers, like the group Resistans ek Alternativ, Ecosud and even other NGOs, I saw that once in a lifetime reality where all Mauritian people were supportive and united to help. They put aside religion and social caste and help each other to save our paradise.

There were even groups created on social media platforms such as Wakashio - Oil Spill - Anou Mobilisez, Lever Moris and Sel Solution Revolution. Mauritians were determined to raise their voices.
